The answer to the Boy of Steel’s question could have been found if he had trained his super-vision on a small house near Legion Headquarters on Earth. There, a bearded man held a beautiful platinum blonde woman as they watched a child play with a robo-toy.
“Nura, I still can’t believe you’re here,” said Thom Kallor, alias Star Boy. “I thought I’d lost you forever when you broke up with me. (*) Holding you like this, seeing you look so happy watching little Aric makes me think I’m dreaming!”

Nura Nal, alias Dream Girl, kissed him and said, “Thom, I was selfish and foolish to leave you. I won’t make that mistake again. You and I will be terrific parents to Aric and then to our own kids. I know that now!”
Thom grinned at the precognitive beauty from Naltor and said, “So, you saw a happily-ever-after future for us all in a dream?”
She laughed and said, “Well, you might say that!” Nura smiled as she recalled how her future self from the divergent timeline had joined Luthor and Mr. Mxyzptlk in their trip to the present, and she had confronted Nura with the truth about how happy she and Thom were in her future era as a wedded couple with several children. That unselfish act had shaken the girl from her mistaken feelings of hurt and rejection and had made her see that a loving future with Thom was not only possible, but probable. She also accepted the word of the future self that she could rise to the challenge of motherhood.
She was just enough of an egotist to believe this, since it came from a source she would never doubt: herself.
